I just bought a r25. Got a steal on it. Im overwhelmed with the options. Because im in the army I have never had the need for a AR. I shoot it enough at work, and work with what they give me. I want to build off the r25 platform which i understand is a dpms. I have 4 years left in the army and want to build the ultimate AR 10 in that time. Ideas? short of duracoating the stupid camo job?

I want her to look great but be funtional. I dont like quad rails. I would like just enough rail at the 6 for a bipod. I want a great bipod. I want to mount a sightron S111 6-24x50 maybe?

Im looking at arms #38 mount and the magpul sniper stock. Can you cock it with the cheek riser up?

Thoughts? Pics?

I agree with you on the quad rails. For most shooters they don't make sense and are a waste. Thus I use a VTAC FF tube and I really like it. Also with the PRS stock yes you can manipulate the charging handle while the riser is extended. Here is picture of mine:

nice job! Is that krylon or duracoat? Did you paint over the existing finish or remove it?

Also is that versapod? I have several already and noticed they have a mount for free float handgaurds that mounts to the sling stud. Is that what that is or is it on a rail? Hard to tell in the pic.

It is Rustolem w/ a layer of satin poly on top. I just cleaned everything with brake cleaner and painted over the top of the existing finish.

The Versapod adapter is the FF version that attaches to a sling stud.
