Another member just asked me how to remove SR-15 E3 MOD 1 barrel shroud to put on the supplied hand stop and hand guard pieces. There is a little trick to it.

1- remove all the hex head fasteners from hand guard/barrel shroud. The big ones...

2- Here's the trick: Take a small flat screwdriver, or whatever, and depress the small pin in hole just in front of the mag well and hinge pin. Center of photo. Depress and slide bottom 1/2 of hand guard forward. May have to wiggle it a little, esp on a new rifle.

Slide bottom 1/2 forward and match up the large notches on the top/bottom halves. Sort of like the slide/frame of a semi-auto pistol. Put on hand stop, etc.

Don't forget to depress the pin when you reassemble the rifle. Fasteners should be hand tight, don't go crazy and strip something, they have a white thread locker on them. Good luck.

I believe you can also slide the fasteners for the screws in the bottom slot on the 6 o clock of the rail, I didn't remove the hand guard when installing them on my ECC, nice rig btw!

Correct.

Thanks, it's a sweet little rifle.
