How do they shoot? Blue or SS? 24" Sporter or Heavy barrel, or Youth?

Anyone running a 20" or cut their's down? What bullets - I know they have 1:10.

Thanks.

Re: Howa 1500 and Wby Vanguard owners - esp 308

I had a weatherby vanguard in 25-06 about 3 or 4 years ago. Using federal 100gr nosler ballistic tip I was getting about a 4-5 in group at 100 yards. I didn't try any other ammo before I traded it.

I have had 243 270 and 7mmRM. All have been accurate, .5-.75" at 100 yards. I currently have a 308 Ranchland Compact. Shoots .75" with a generic load and 165 hot cors. Haven't run the 168Amax yet. Shoots well for a pencil pipe. Paid $450 for it. No complaints at all on any of them.

I have a Vanguard in 243 (sporter barrel) and it loves 95 gr Federal Fusions. Generally right around .5", 3 shot groups from the bench. I did install a Timney trigger which was a huge improvement over the factory unit. The fusions shoot so well foe a whitetail load that I have done no hand load development for the rifle.
