HOWA 1500 load in .308

im pretty new to relaoding,and i have a hard time getting my howa 1500 varminter in .308 to shoot beter than 1 MOA

i currntly use VV N140
cci lr200
COAL 72mm
sierra MK 168gr hpbt
lapua brass neck sized

any suggestions?

Try some 175gr. loadings... while the 1-10 twist barrel on your rifle should work with 168gr, you never know, maybe your rifle just likes the 175gr. better.

I can't seem to find the thread right now but I think there is sticky with common accuracy loads that have worked with shooters here, most shooting 1-10 twist barrels that you might want to read through to get ideas on trial loads.

If all else fails, try taking a look at the barrel crown to see if it might be damaged.

2 questions. Can you shoot better than 1 moa? can a howa shoot better than 1 moa? Im not being cheeky but sometimes the shooter is not capable and sometimes his gear isnt either.

Get some FGMM and see how it does.

A factory Howa varmint with heavy barrel has no problem shooting sub MOA.

its factory stock, in .223 but you get the idea. (load development at 100y so no 5 shot groups) the numbers are just how many grains are in each 3 shot batch. all 3 shot groups.

sorry i dont have any load data for howa in 308, but in my rem it loves 155 sierra palma's and varget.

these rifles are absolute shooters and id be surprised if yours wont get the odd sub 1/2 MOA.

168 A-max. 42 grains of RL-15. Shot from a howa in a B&C stock. Right out of the box, during break in, the gun shot groups that were less than an inch.
