not a bad duty Assignment here that's for sure, I came here straight from Iraq, now I have about 1.5 years left teaching ROTC at MTU..gotta love it..

got the rifle out to the range 8:30 am, windy and 28 degree temps, with barrel break in shot .5MOA w/140 grain Amax hand loads, will do better when i figure out what it likes, I started with minimum Grains so i have lots of room for testing

Very nice, what powder were you using? I will be using the 140 Amax in mine as well, hope they shoot well.

Those A-Max 140 are a great round for 6.5x55 Swede. Love the stock on your rifle.

Those A-Max 140 are a great round for 6.5x55 Swede. Love the stock on your rifle.

If I were loading, and this is just my opinion and nothing else, I would load Hodgdon 4831SC, start at around 45 grains and work up. But thats just me. H4831SC tops out at about 48 grains. Be smart, be safe, watch out for pressure signs, etc.
Just an opinion, nothing else.

yep I know I just started at the bottom, wanted to work up and find the best load. Also it was barrel break in.
will run a ladder soon with colored markers on the bullets to find grouping

a good example of same powder grain but different COAL
IMR 4064 37.5 Grn COAL 3.038 = 1.324 moa
IMR 4064 37.5 Grn COAL 3.068 =.728 moa
