howa action screw thread specs?

Does anyone know what the specs are on the howa 1500 long action, stock/action screws? I've got a stripped head on my front action screw and I'm trying to find a replacement up here in alaska. Having a tough time finding one.

Isn't it bog standard M6? At least on the short action it was.

never been to your part of the world. It's a standard metric thread. Steal a screw off a german or jap car.

If you are really stuck i could post one or two over.

I think there the same as remington. 8/32 I think but not sure. I know remington bases fit the howa so if you figure out for sure what the remys are you'll be gtg.

6mm- you can go to Lowe's/Home Depot and get some that might work. I am, as I type, having Howard Pitts make a set for my Krieger-barreled Howa. I put it in a McMillan Sako Varminter stock and the screws were too short. The screws at L's/HD might fit a factory stock.

I think the spec is 6mm-1; 6-1; or something like that.

sorry, i gave you the scope base thread size. not sure on the action screws.

The Howa uses 6X1mm screws; Brownells stocks aftermarket replacements.

Thanks Guys, I'll check out brownells. I called sportsworld. they wanted 7.00 plus shipping for two screws....I can go online and buy 20 screws for that much. I just needed the specs on the screws which legacy international and sportsworld didn't know..
