Gunsmithing Howa bolt disassembly

Re: Howa bolt disassembly

Twisting requires quite a bit of effort correct? There is the notch where it sits when it is cocked, but I am twisting it to get to the big space yes? Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks.

Re: Howa bolt disassembly

if you do end up going in the wrong direction, just cock the firing pin back by pushing down on the end of a bench and rotate the other way at the same time...I can't tell you how many times I forget which way to turn...

Re: Howa bolt disassembly

nope I went the right direction after the read the directions, and it only took a little bit of effort to rotate it, and the shroud and firing pin popped right out. Reassembly was even easier... Definitely much easier than disassembling a Remington Bolt, and no tools needed.

Re: Howa bolt disassembly

Now if I can only unscrew the single screw that holds the trigger in place without stripping it... That screw just won't turn! Was locktite used on it? Should I heat it?
