Howard impact sport muffs

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

I have them and the Peltor 6S.
- the Peltors drained their battery just sitting in my range bag, so the Howards are the winners by far, with the more accesible battery, single on/off button and auto-shut feature.

I do use in ear protection in addition to the muffs. I'm not comfortable without.
Combined I can hear range commands and conversations when I want to, and have my privacy when amplification is off.

I also need to lift the right hand muff when shooting a rifle, both brands - they interfere with my cheek weld. For me, that's bad enough to consider the MSA Sordin GB.

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

I'm a Firearms Instructor and use them everyday. I don't have any problem getting the correct stock weld when using them due to their slim design. As well, I've been using the same set of batteries in them for 2 months, and I work Monday through Friday. Awesome set of ear protection for the price.

They are great. I have 3 pairs that I keep in my range bag for me and whoever goes shooting with me. Batteries last a long time. They are comfortable and work great. I've also sold around 600 pairs of them.

they rock... I just got a pair and used them for the first time this w/e.
Something I like that has yet to be mentioned.... you can rock out with your glock out because they have the ability to plug into any mp3 player.

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

We've purchased 10 pairs of these muffs, and they are great. (for ourselves, and friends)

Only one complaint to watch out for. On two sets of these, the "battery springs" broke and the electronic part stopped working. Makes for frustration. Others have complained about this as well, so we're not the only ones. These were all purchased about 4 years ago.

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

I have been using these for the last few months, the price is definitely right, but I agree with the above poster who wears plugs in addition to these. Not sure if it's a fit issue, but I don't feel comfortable shooting these without plugs.

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

I have been using them for a few months now, at the range as well as out coyote hunting. They have worked great, I do not have a problem maintaining a good cheek weld. They maintain good sound, will cut out when calling, as they compress it due to volume, but they cut back on immediately so you can hear any responses. They do alright with ambient noise and wind as well.
I have been contemplating adding additional plugs while at the range, more of a "better safe than sorry," kind of thing.

Re: Howard impact sport muffs

My use is mainly suppressed as my club make you have ears on but they are great as I am genetically below on hearing. It allows me to hear others o. The line and shuts it out when they shoot. Work very well for me.
