I have been in the shadows for awhile trying to learn what I can and now wanting to move forward.

My name is Jarrett Snyder, Currently a college student in mechanical engineering at Tennessee Tech University.

I have shot on and off my life but recently been getting back into it since I visited my uncle and he let me borrow his reloader.
Growing up and more recently now have been shooting a lever action 30-30. Also go out regularly and shoot my Bolt action .22.

Been wanting to get in to longer than 100 yard shooting and have fallen in love with bolt actions since my .22
I have learned alot but know I still have miles to go before I feel confident.

What I am wanting to do is design a build from A to B and piece it together. Being in college money is not as abundant as time.
So it will be a slow build but I am wanting to lay all the ground work out. Part of that ground work is also what I need to reload that said build.

I appreciate any help and look forward to learning alot more

Welcome! Middle Tn here. I would just buy a Rem 700 5r or 700p in 308 and be done! Shoot the shit out of it, and upgrade the rifle as money allows. Don't forget that optics are as important as the rifle. As for reloading, order the Lyman reloading manual and read, read, read! A RCBS single stage press will serve you well. Hope this helps!

I already have a lee press and have been reloading my pistol rounds, BUT thanks for information on the reloading manual.
Also thanks for recommendation on the rifle. I have seen alot of 700 varmit and tactical for sale but have not seen a 700p or 700 5r
