I made a trip to the CMP today and hand selected an HRA M1 Garand. I was a man on a mission today. Here is the rifle:

This HRA just needs a gas plug and trigger group to be all correct.

What are service grade going for now?</div></div>

$625 for the Springfield's and H&R's and $795 for the Winchester's.

Exactly, the rifle and 3-cans of HXP, 200 loose rounds per can, came to $1000 out the door. I could have saved an additional $25 or so dollars having the rifle shipped home, but I did not want to wait for it any longer than I have to.

There is some confliction with correcting this rifle though... correcting the rifle would ruin the LEAD rebuild. Since I am rather partial to the trigger guard, and the LEAD rebuild parked all of the parts, I'll leave this rifle as is.

Thanks, yeah, I'm partial to the CMP rifles myself. I was hoping to shoot the rifle tomorrow morning, but arid-Alabama is now in need of a boat...
