HS Precision 5r stock question

Just got my 20" 700 5r last week. Mounted scope double and triple checked everything was level and put it away. Went to the range and put on my bipod and rifle is leaning.

After close inspection and re-checking my scope mounting I believe the studs are off center on the front.

Is this even worth trying to get remington or hs to fix? Other problem is I am signed up for a precision rifle course in a few weeks and don't want to be with out my rifle. I would normally just buy a new stock and role, but I spent my budget on this thing and can't afford anymore for a while.

Thanks in advance!

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

What kind of bipod is it? The Harris I have allows the gun to tilt quite a bit. If they are way off you could drill new holes and move the studs, the forearm is just fiberglass.

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

If I just bought that new rifle, I'd send it staight back to Rem. for them to warranty. I've sent them back before and it takes a few weeks so thats not really an option for you. I'd call them and b*&ch for sure!

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

I will contact remington in the morning. I am just wondering if is worth my time. Sad part is I planned to use the HS for a little while and upgrade later in the year. I would have to disclose the mis-alignment of the studs and I am sure would hurt resale value even worse.

The last 2 rifle purchases have not been great for me. Bought a Savage MKII TR 22lr that the receiver is mis-drilled. Savage basicly told me they did not care. I just dealt with it being it was a $350 gun and most likely my last savage product due their CS dept. Now it seems the stock is out of wack on this one. Guess we will see if Remingtons CS is better than Savage. I ordered it from buds so it is not like I can throw it back to a local dealer either. Wish me luck, hopefully I can get lucky and not have to send the whole rifle back as that is not really an option right now.

Thanks!

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

I had to contact Remington about my new 5R that I bought also. They were very bad in their communication, but Remington did send me a brand stock. I would definitely contact them if I were you.

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

Curious, did they send you postage to return the defective one?

I plan to call them in the morning. Just pulled all my paperwork so I can get the numbers off it. Trying not to be a dick, but $1k is kinda hard for me to cough up and then have to work around shitty fitment.

Re: HS Precision 5r stock question

Not at all. I made a online warranty ticket. I didn't hear back from them and they just sent me a stock. Sitting at my front door one day. So now I have both stocks.
