Gunsmithing HS precistion stock inletting

Re: HS precistion stock inletting

Yes it will need to be inletted. I did mine. The inletting wasn't that hard in my opinion. One issue I do have is getting the bottom metal high enough to allow the bolt to positively catch the top round. My rifle is a Rem 700 vf. The bottom metal is against the bottom of the receiver and the bolt just engages the top round enough to push the round forward where it starts it's angle upward and then pushes over the rim instead of continuing to push from behind the rim.

Does the bottom metal need to be worked so it fits even further and allows the mag to be in the furthest position? Or does the bottom of the receiver needs to be ground down to allow the bottom metal to be placed further up in the column.

Thanks
