I bought this rifle several years ago- Remington varmint in the HS Precision stock. I then sent the whole works off to Jim Hillin and had him square the action, lap the lugs, recut the chamber and recrown. In the past few months, I bedded it in a HTG and I am pleased with the results. This rifle shoots everything pretty well. I have ran it with 155's and 190's with good results.

Slickrick and I went and shot a couple of days ago and the trip was worthwhile. I have not shot it at 200yds much, but it did well.

Re: HTG and Remmy

I have the same setup but I went the desert cameo route but I have not fired it yet. I notice you were using 41.4 of 4064. Did you try less powder? I would like to have the same load for my M1A and my Remmy LTR. Jesse

You may find this amusing, but that load is not even what I shoot in that rifle on a regular basis. I had loaded that box of ammo back in the late 90's and thought I would give it a run in the Remington. Originally, I used it in a Winchester Varmint rifle I used for informal benchrest competition.

Regarding less powder, I think that is the Sierra accuracy load and it seems to work. I usually load RL 15.
