Hulk Hogan.......

Andre was like 500LBS.

I was in the Pontiac Silver Dome the day Hulk slammed Andre . I felt the earth shake and saw the wrestling world change

All my childhood illusions of good guy/ bad guy were shattered for ever when he became the leader of the NWO and called us Puke-a -maniacs .

Those NWO years were so fun .

I was always a Ric Flair guy but ya couldn’t grow up in The 80s and not be a Hulk a maniac !

Fuck Ozzy now Hulk - has anyone checked in on Kieth Richard’s ? Or Willie Nelson ?

And when I compare him to more recent sports hero’s - his message every Friday and Saturday night to millions of kids - eat your vegetables, do your exercises, say your prayers , listen to your mom and dad and believe in yourself .

I don’t hear a comparable message today.

That's all white-supremacy messaging, like showing up on time and working.

Arnie and Sly say what........
Granted, Arnie admitted he quit using them after he found out they were bad.. (so he said)

i think they both had their stages with it. but yeah, Arnold should be getting a little nervous.

but i think both Sly and Arnold didnt put half the abuse on their bodies as those wrestlers did.

Never was into the pro wrestling thing but my younger brother was , he definitely was a hulkster ,had all the bullshit gear , that was in his teens ,hulk hogan was his hero ,kinda like John Wayne was in my youth . Sad to see him go so soon ,only 2 years older than me.to tell you the truth Toby Keith hit me harder.

Toby Keith was a grifter who magically became Mr Patriotism after 9-11 for profit

I don’t watch wrestling as an adult but when I was a kid my dad and I watched it and went to a handful of tapings. It was fun back in the day even knowing it was predetermined. Me and my friends would hit each other over the head with cookie sheets like they were chairs and jump off forts elbow dropping each other.

It's pretty sad. The odd thing about getting older is watching your history age and disappear into the ether as you grow. When I was a kid we lost John Wayne and a generation of actors and public figures who loved America.

As I get older I have the displeasure of seeing them replaced with people who hate and despise the nation I love.

My daughter and I discuss the things nobody told us when we were growing up. Today with Hulk's passing I mentioned that nobody ever said anybody you like that is older than you will pass before your eyes, if you're lucky. The guy wasn't perfect, like Ozzy, but I see no sign of anybody that will equal or replace them. Maybe it's just an old man's opinion.
