Been forth and back on whether I should purchase a Red Dot Sight for my Savage Axis/Edge. My intentions are to hunt yotes with it but i am not sure if it would be worth the money. Long story short, I want to know if I'm wasting my time.
Depends. If most of your targets are less than 100 yards and in, it can work. If you are shooting beyond that, a "regular" scope will probably be better.
Don't forget extra batteries, Murphy is a bastard.
I use a 2moa on my "woods" rifle = 100-ish yards or less on deer. For that purpose it's awesome. If going past 150-ish yards I'd prefer an illuminated reticle scope

I just went through the same thing. Ended up sticking an inexpensive Sig Romeo 5 on my scout rifle. It’s so much faster and handier now than when I had the Leupold scout scope on it. I was feeling patriotic when I took these pics last week.
