I do it. They work for me. This past year, I shot a whitetail right through the heart, dead right there. It's all shot placement. The bullet won't do that for you.
I was using 168gr SMKs, out of a 308. Did a great job.

Been using them for years primarily through a 300WM, 190 SMK's at 2950-3000 fps. Most drop on the spot, only one ran any sort of distance, less than 50 yds I believe. As stated, shot placement.
