Movie Theater Hurt Locker

Re: Hurt Locker

It was a pretty good movie, sniper scene seemed kinda off, not an expert though. Good action, very suspenseful bomb standoffs. On another note do not see inglorious basterds, not one of tarinino's better movies.

Re: Hurt Locker

Hurt Locker's a great movie, very entertaining. Not the most militarily accurate film, but it accomplishes the purpose, entertaining an audience. As in any movie, a person that does it in real life will obviously find all sorts of discrepancies. One part that is way off is when the SVBIED driver drives straight past a whole Army platoon without having a single shot fired at him, to be stopped by the EOD tech with his lonely M9, hahahaha... All in all a very decent movie however.

Re: Hurt Locker

Got both the Hurt Locker and Brothers at War in the same package deal Going to watch them on the flight home. Looking forward to it. I have been waiting for the HL for several months the brothers is a bonus and looks good.

Re: Hurt Locker

i seen some small previews a few months ago but my buddy new a guy who burned him a copy and he let me borrow it and it was a good movie i thought, but yeah the sniper seen was off, plus i thought it could have been a lil longer

Re: Hurt Locker

I was in Fallujah in 06 and did EOD security. The IEDs depicted are identical to actual situations I experienced. However the tactics are completely wrong. We always cleared the immediate area and these guys just ran up to the IED like they were cowboys. We had bounties on our heads and weren't about to die for 80K.

Just pay attention to the situations and IED types the tactics are not even close. I have the movie and every time I watch it I get a rush but am calm at the same time. Have trouble sleeping that night though

Re: Hurt Locker

I liked Hurt Locker overall. Like has been said above, the cowboy antics of the EOD guys in cutting wires didn't match anything I saw the Navy EOD guys doing. Most IEDs were blown in place because it wasn't worth taking the chance for someone to get vaporized. And an E-5 busting an E-7's chops? Not likely.

The part that struck me was showing how much deployments get into your blood. The camaraderie, the sense of purpose, the adrenaline rush... that shit is hard to leave behind. The movie got that part exactly right, IMO.

Re: Hurt Locker

I liked this movie, it was intense. I thought the sniping part was funny just cause it was pretty unrealistic. The rest of it I thought was good though.
