I received some great advice here about fixing the wheel hub on my truck and where to order a new one. I placed an order last week from Rockauto.com and have been waiting and watching the tracking number. It went out on the truck this morning for delivery so I was hoping to have it when I got home. It still wasn't here and the status had not changed so I have been sitting in my living room this evening watching television about 7' from the front door. Normally they don't deliver after 9:00pm so I checked the tracking again and it showed that it had been dropped at the front door at 9:01pm.

Fucking lying bastard of a delivery driver has probably chucked it into a dumpster to avoid having to admit to not getting his packages dropped in time. I wouldn't give a shit if it had been delayed until tomorrow but now I'll probably end up waiting, with a broken truck, for another week or three to get my part. We had a major accident this afternoon which closed the interstate to half the city, I was expecting to see some sort of a "delayed" status when I went back and checked it.

If he trashed my hub I hope he loses control of his truck on the way back to the hub and hits a tree head on at 65mph.

Well imagine that, it just magically appeared at my front door. Whoever dropped it would have seen me sitting here. My neighbors would have knocked before doing so.

I think I'll close my Fedex account now.

The driver is USMCj's cousin.

Glad you got your part, Phylodog.
I was beginning to worry about who was going to play the part of "the driver" on your next shift.

That's funny right there, I don't care who ya are!

Hey phylo. That Rockauto is a great parts house. They sell good name brand stuff way cheaper than the zone. Glad ya got Yer stuff.

That's not what I wanted to hear because I just ordered a stock from them. It's now on backorder so things already aren't looking good.

What was the problem with your order?

Nah, not my style. I've had a baton for 11 years, a Taser for 8 and have never used them outside of training. The only folks I put my hands on are those who decide to put theirs on me first. Never takes more than a few seconds before they realize that was a bad idea and things calm down. 11 years on the job, over 7 of which with SWAT and I've never sent anyone to the hospital, never been sued and never been accused of excessive force. Gonna take more than this to push me over the edge but I can't help but hope that karma takes over on some folks.

I feel your frustration brother - nothing worse than a broken truck when you need it - and hopefully it's just an honest mistake.

Those are the days I head down to the dojo - a good sparring session and the worlds problems seem small..

I had heard a bunch of good stuff about Rockauto, so when I had to replace the starter in my 94 Mitsu Montero, I went there.
Their price ~ $101 to $186!
Autozone ~ $80
Then you have to ship it!

It seems that almost anything for my Mitsu or VW is a lot more than my local Auto Zone. What gives?

When You have to replace a starter 5 times, it's not really cheaper. I have been the victim of a customers wrath more than a few times because of the zones crappy electrical parts. Glad I'm retired.

Re: I can't stand a F'n liar...

I got the ACDelco from Auto Zone, and on Rock Auto's site they want $147.79 plus $25.30 core. And all there starters are remans. It just sucks having foreign cars, but I can't get away from them!

Re: I can't stand a F'n liar...

At a loss on that one, but You still might want to do more searching for a foreign car specialist. They might be able to do ya better. It's generally accepted that AC Delco parts are good quality, but I have had failures with them also. Mostly on starters.

Re: I can't stand a F'n liar...

Yeah, I generally go through a foreign car specialist around here, and they are almost always half the price on factory parts, but for some reason the starter was still around $140

I usually don't go through AutoZone, or O'reilly's (esp. O'reilly's, always ask for the second one on the rack, because you'll just be back in an hour to get it anyway!) but that was the best deal. Hopefully this one will work for a while!
