No, its not tactical, its not even black. You cant open it one handed. Its got some heft to it. No pocket clip.

But something about the ole 110 makes me keep a spot open for it all the time.

I have a bunch of knives. Mostly folders, a lot of them are the liner-lock type, one handed, high speed-low drag. But none of them have nearly the miles on them that my 110 does. Camping, work, play, you name it. The tip snapped off a while back, so I ground, shaped and re-sharpened it. Still takes a razors edge you can shave with.

To me, a Buck 110 is like a 1911. Classic, hasnt changed a bit, never outlives its usefulness. Maybe one day I will get the blade replaced.

Oh, and "Made in the USA". Something you dont get much of anymore.

If you got one, or a classic, toss a pic up.

Re: I just love this knife

That photo brings back memories.I skinned my first deer many years ago with a Buck 110. It wasn't my knife. The old timer who took me hunting that day owned it. I can still remember how worn the blade was from being sharpened so many times. He loaned me his Marlin 30-30 to kill the deer with, then handed me his knife to dress it with. I was young, and didn't have any money. He was a hell of a man.
Thanks for posting the picture.

Re: I just love this knife

Sir, I think you will love even more your 110 learning to open it single-handed : can be done,an' done faster than a safe-locked button switchblade or any butterfly_ (can be single-handed folded,too)_Try !

Re: I just love this knife

This blade is pretty tight. Since its slightly smaller than it originally was there is less to get a hold of. I have seen ones that have been converted to an auto, which is interesting.

Re: I just love this knife

when I was a kid, I had an Old Timer. I don't remember what happened to it but at the time, given it was the most I could afford at the time, I thought it was an awesome knife. The knife posted sort of reminds me of it.

Another vote for the 110.

I have 4 children. I cut each of their umbilical cords with a 110, folded it (blood on blade), put it in the leather sheath, labeled it and put it in the safe. I'm lucky to live in a small town where that was "OK", not all doctors would be cool with that I'm sure. Our last was born by C-section, I even cut her loose with her 110. When they turn 18 I'll cut them loose again and hand over their knives.

I also have my own that I use as a field knife.

...if only you can firmly pinch the blade ,where is the nail cut, between your thumb and index finger,a flick of your wrist will cause the heavy hanldle move down, opening the knife_ (Buck even produced a horizontal leather carring sheat perfect for that)_ really THE evergreen among the knives, anyway !

That is great!

The 110 is awesome! I still have the one my dad gave me when I was 11 or 12. Still one of the sharpest I own but doesn't make it out of the house too much these days...its a classic now and has earned an easy retirement after taking care of countless game...my current everyday carry is a Case Trapperlock with the high speed low drag thumbstud. Best part about this one is its CV blade! takes a little more care care but you can get it SCARY sharp!
