Well my co-workers are at the Carolina Brewing Company brewery right now kicking back some.

I was invited, but I went home at 1630. They are still there, and I am enjoying my reading of SH and Spider Solitaire wile my wife watches TV.

    Who would of thought this????

You are in the early stages of getting old. The next stage will come later, that will be the day you say " I can't remember when the last was that I went out and had a few with the guys" and after you think about you realize it had been quite a while.

Then the next stage hits you when you say " I can't remember when the last was that I went out and had a few with the guys" and the wife tells you it was last night.

I can sort of relate. I may only be 20, but having a kid at such a young age forced me to grow up rather quickly. I get invited to parties all the time by my single friends, but I just have no desire to do the things I used to do in jr. high. There's NOTHING wrong with spending time with your family instead of going out and acting foolish with friends. Although I do manage to keep some immaturity alive and well.

I've seen you shoot, John. You ain't getting old yet! (Well, maybe senile considering some of the shots you were trying to make with that .22!)

I always figured that when I couldn't shoot to my own satisfaction, I'd be getting old; but this schtuff is getting ridiculous. It's getting so I can't even get it on paper lately.

Now it's not that I'm not able to acquire a sight picture and dispatch the shot smoothly. It's that I'm getting to where I don't get the prerequisite issues like sighting-in done. I trust things to work the way they worked, and of course, they don't.

It's my own danged fault, but that's where the 'old' part comes in. For some unrecognized and totally unreliable reason, the mind says, 'Hey it always worked, it will again', and when I should be packing up the car for the trek to the range, instead I sit down and get onto the Snipers' Hide.

Once again, I prove Old Ronald Reagan right...; 'Trust, but verify...'.

I live across the street for a funeral home. I'm glad every day I wake up on my side of the street. But I never thought I would live as long as I have.
