from a couple weeks ago. not much to say other than nom nom nom.... once they go down and fatten up we will switch over to rod and reel and get some good fatty tuna to slap on a bed of rice. this stuff is a little to lean to make sushi with.

this time of the year you don't get to much for them; they are very lean... once they go deep and start fattening up they get very valuable based on fat content.

Nice catch Doubled! I haven't caught a big tuna since 94...I miss it.
The best sushi tuna, in my opinion, is False Albacore...aka, Little Tunny, Bonito, Fat Alberts etc. They are greasy as a soap makers ass (possibly because I catch them in late fall) and raw on a slab of rice with wasabi there is no equal. Most folks throw them back but I say they don't know what is good.
