Like the title says I have a remy 700 long action and I want the scope base screw holes opened up. The action has been salt bath nitrited any know a smith that can do it.

I'm out of town I'll mail you the action thursday. I am using Night force 20 moa base that are made for 8-40 screws. if it maters. This site is so awesome I wish I knew about it 10 years ago.
I am shipping you the action today I will call you a bit later to hammer out the detail. I will send the scope base as well just in case you need it.
Yes the standard Remy is tapped for 6-48 screws. 8-40 are stronger. I got the base for a good price set up for 8-40 and since I had just dropped 2200 for a spuhr mount and atacr I though why not.
On a side note chad does great work with a fast turn around.
