Rifle Scopes I want to learn mil-dot use

What is the best method to learn to use a mil dot reticle for target ranging effectively and efficiently? The only way to get better is to practice, practice, practice, and I'd like to know what will make it click and stick in my mind. Suggestions?

I bought a CD for my computer from E-Bay. Inexpensive and teaches you all the basics. With lots of practice scenarios. Not the real thing, but great for a beginner. Tom.
