From what I can make out on the head stamp.

SMT 936 and TM B36

Help us out a bit here. What is the bullet diameter?

It looks like a 140gr FMJ 6.5mm Carcano, like Rob01 thinks. Cartridge and bullet that Lee Harvey Oswald used to kill President Kennedy, at least according to the Warren Commission.

Bullet diameter would certainly help. How many do you have?

Yup 6.5 carcano manufactured in 38 it is, looked at several sites and found out thru headstamp. Thanks

i had a gun that shot that round, bolt action job, good round lot of lead but not a long range round in my opinion, the nose on the make them unstable at range. have fun

I would have guessed Arisaka (6.5mm) surplus by the looks of it. Interesting find. Maybe the hide should do a weekly "ID that bullet" contest for sweet prizes...

I do not think Japanese ammunition would have english characters as headstamp, IMHO
