So I am building a couple of rifles for dedicated suppressor use. One in 308 and another in some sort of 6mm caliber maybe a 6BR or ???

So I know that most contours will work I want to know what the smallest contour that will work is and I am also curious what contours look best?

Does a HV look better or worse than a straight barrel of say 1.25? Or is the M24 contour going to look better? Or am I splitting hairs?

I guess for the plinking and varmint hutning I will do with them I am very flexible for my needs from the rifles standpoint. Both will be 20" or under finished length.

Both cans are going to be 5.8-24 threads.

Thanks for the input!

Re: Ideal Barrel Contour for Suppressor

Some custom barrel makers will make any contour you like as long as it is safe. I have bought a couple of barrels from Pac-Nor and they advised me how thin I could go on one the the barrels. With 5/8" threads, you will have to stay at least .625". You can make the barrel contour smaller but with it larger right at the end for the threads if you want to reduce weight, but it will look a bit funny.

I was never concerned about looks, just tht it worked well.
