Ideal length barrel 300 win mag

What is the best performing barrel for 300 mag. I don't want too long as it will be carried some for hunting. I'm thinking 22" plus brake. What are your thoughts about this?

If it's for hunting, yes 22" is a good compromise. For shooting beyond 1000 yards you'd want something closer to 26"

Personally, I wouldn't go any lower than 24". You won't get any of the mag velocities under 24", which kind of defeats having a magnum in the first place. According to the case capacity vs barrel length, anything under 26 makes it overbore.
