If there were RIOTS in a State, demanding a new government, would it be big news?

SAN JUAN - Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello said on Tuesday he will stay in office despite protests calling for his resignation that turned violent overnight.
"My commitment is to keep on working and to make sure that services and the transformations that we've embarked in Puerto Rico continue," the governor told a news conference.
The protests were also sparked by U.S. authorities' announcement of a federal indictment involving six people, including two former high-ranking Puerto Rico government officials, charged with conspiracy and other crimes in connection with millions of dollars in federal Medicaid and education funds.

Well, there are protest, and clashes..............by people who don't like the government.............and it isn't as much news as Russian influence on the 2016 election, or the racist tweets by our current president...........

lamestream news is not going to air protests against corrupt democrats they have been protecting, promoting, and helping to spread the lies that the government has not helped them enough.

I just got back from there a hour ago.... the people are pissed. The corruption is rampant, and people are getting tired of it.

Could you imagine your first job being a Governor ?

What was interesting was the people who want statehood want handouts.... the hard working people want to stay independent

Went to PR years ago and loved it but it has changed a lot since then. The .gov wants to turn PR into a welfare state for more democratic votes.
Sad. That's not how it was when I was growing up there 40 - 50 years ago.

Sounds like they're lost. Cut them the fuck loose.

I have my birthright citizenship so fuck everyone else over there.

If this turns into an all out fighting back against corruption, I'd have no problem backing them. Nothing would bring a bigger smile to my face than seeing government-level thieves and robbers getting street justice.

I hope some vigilante groups take advantage of the chaos and carry out some midnight surprise visits where needed.

"Both ends? What a player!"...
