This is a great point. I naively thought the purpose of a census is just to have a great survey of the American populace (whether citizens or no) and that's it. But the results of the census are being applied to predict how to redistrict Congress, distribute resources, etc.
We are in agreement that only citizens of the U.S.A. should have the right to vote.

Asking "are you a U.S. citizen" seems counterproductive on the census, ESPECIALLY if you want to find out how many non-citizens are in this country.
