Hello everyone, as you can see I'm new to Sniper's Hide.
I'm a big fan of rimfire and I hope to learn more about it here. I own a Savage Mark II TR in 22LR. As for the gun itself, it's definitely a fine shooter. I love shooting at long distances, it's very addicting.

Thank you! It's not really painful anymore. Switching to a 22LR is the best decision I've ever made in this hobby.

Nice looking rifle ya got there!
I'm in the market for a 22 bolt "trainer" and I considered that rifle. A friend who has a lot more experience than me sort of steered me away from it saying that the mag release is a little weak and that I would probably end up breaking it. I haven't laid hands on the Savage so I don't have any idea personally. YMMV
Instead, I'll probably purchase a CZ 453 American, top it was a BSA Sweet 22 scope and drop all that into a Boyd's Tacticool stock. From what I've read on the CZ's I think I'll be pretty happy with it.
I really do like the look of your Savage and I hope to mimic it pretty closely with the CZ I put together.
Re: Im new to snipers hide, just wanted to say hi.
While I like the TR stock, I think I'd like it better if it was made of polymer instead of wood. I just think it'd be more stable where humidity, etc., are concerned.
Re: Im new to snipers hide, just wanted to say hi.
hello and welcome to the best site on the net.
you'll learn alot here, not only in the rimfire section, but the other sections as well. just think before you type, and research by using the google search found in my signature to explore before asking a question that may have gotten beat to death before.
alot of newbies got torn apart without having that knowledge in advance, we'll start you out on the right foot.

Welcome to the hide. The TR is next rifle on my list, just can't seem to find them here in San Antonio, and Bud's is out of stock. You will learn a lot from the pros here when it comes to long range precision shooting. Another website that specializes in 22lr rimfire are this guys. They are good to go.
