Rifle Scopes Im trying to decide on a scope that has the

potential to bring me to 800-1000 yds. I will not lie I am very new to long range shooting and I am building my first long range rifle. In a 300 win mag. How many MOA will I require to reach 800-1000 yds with a 100yd zero. I fully understand that I have ALOT of practice ahead of me but with the proper equipment and practics I feel I can overcome the hurdles. My cartridge choices are

Federal w/ 190gsierra match kings
black hills with 180g barnes TSX
black hills 178g A-max

Equipment so far, Savage LA trued and bedded,heavy recoil lug, Stockade tactical stock, 26" mcgowen barrel 1" OD muzzle. I am now trying to decide on base, rings and optics. ANy help you can give would be great

How big is your budget???? The boys here are glad to help you spend your money, but it makes no sense for somebody to recommend a $2K scope, base and ring package, if you only have $1k or less to spend. So let us know your parameters.

As to your second question: The Federal GMM load would require about 29 MOA to reach 1000 yds from a 100 yds zero. I did not compute the other two loads, as they should require a bit less.
