Only shoot these two from 600 to 1000 yds.

308. Rem 700. 26" barrel.1/12 twist.175 SMK. FED M primers. Lapua brass. Varget and IMR 4064. Pretty happy up to now.

6.5 Grendel. AA 24" barrel. 1/9 twist. 123 AMAX. FED M primers. Lapua brass. Varget and AA 2520. Varget very accurate shorter distances. Too slow for 1000 but have not tried AA 2520 yet as gun is new.

Picked up an 8 lb jug today of IMR 8208 as I took what I could get! I know the reports are good for the Grendel but was wondering will my 308 perform as good as the Varget or 4064?

I live in central Florida so temperature is pretty steady between 70 and say 90 deg all year round at the time of the day that I shoot.

I am around 2650 to 2700 fps right now with the 175 SMK.

Thanks

I mainly shoot XBR through my Remmy SPS Tac .308. I'm constantly shooting .5 moa @ 100 yards.

I stand by this powder because it works well for me. And what I mean my .5 is that is most of the time because I have had days when I'm pushing 175 SMK pills in .250 groups.

My main reason why I really like the powder is because at 43.5 grains I can push the 175 SMK pills at 2640 from the 20" barrel and no signs of pressure what so ever.

This is relevant to my interests, as the general consensus seems to be 175s and XBR aren't optimal.
