I cant seem to find any load data with this powder. I hear it looks like Hodgdon Benchrest but exhibits a slower burn rate, i.e., more like Varget. It sounds like it would work well with the smaller rounds such as .204 Ruger, .223 Rem, .22-250 and maybe 6mm PPC. Benchmark and Varget both work well for me and I would really like to try this powder out but I have no load data.

Anyone care to share or know of any load data with this powder with the .223 round in an AR Platform?

Has anyone had any experience with this powder and the .223?

I wonder if It would work with the 6.5 Grendel.

Ideas, comments?

Re: IMR-8208 XBR loads with .223/AR-15

The burn rate is slightly faster than 4895.

Hodgdon's site has load data for the Grendel and my XBR and brass will be showing up today for me to do some Grendel loads. I'll provide some limited feedback on some Grendel loads as soon as I can. Won't have any Chrony data as my tripod is broken.

I haven't looked for .223 loads for XBR, but it's hard to believe they have Grendel data and no .223 data posted.

Re: IMR-8208 XBR loads with .223/AR-15

I just ordered 8 lbs from Midsouthshooters @$135, not a bad price. I'll be loading it in .223 for my AR and will post results when I get them.

Re: IMR-8208 XBR loads with .223/AR-15

Looking for info about the 75 gr. Hornady A max. Tips get F'd up when 24.5 gr. of Varget is added. Compressed load, but there has to be a trick to it! Any info would be great, Thanks

Re: IMR-8208 XBR loads with .223/AR-15

Have not shot any 55 fmj with XBR, but have shot some 55 v-max. Am getting about 3,135fps with 24.8g and average about .6 groups. So far not as accurate as Varget and can't get quite as good a velocity. Seems like the loads Hodgdon is showing on their website are pretty conservative. No sign of pressure with any loads including 60vmax, 69 Nosler HPBT, and 75 Hornady HPBT.

Split26, are you trying to seat the 75 AMax at mag length? Don't believe you can seat them at mag length for an AR. You'll have to single load and seat longer.
