As you said, it will be back in 100 years. The sad thing is, people get excited, truly excited about days like that day. Arbitrary events. They get excited over cycles but never realize that today will never come around again. Such a blip on the eternal experience. I don't say journey because only physical existence is a journey, but our spirit is eternal and thus- is, not traveling.
The ultimate fear of mine for humanity, is that while we aren't traveling through time in spirit, at some point two paths will diverge, never to join again.
I hope the path I end up on after that divergence is filled with laughter, love, and a better body. It is what I believe. So it isn't a hope really. An expectation.
I can't imagine the realization of wakening in eternity in pitch black with all the toppings as described and more.
