Seems like time to restart the old art of building the English longbow. I'd take a warbow with 70 to 80 pounds draw and a quiver of arrows with broadheads for home defense ANY FUCKING DAY over a baseball bat or rolling pin or some other nonsense like that. Especially arrows fitted with Montecs or Nightmare big-game killing heads. I am not really a sadistic fucker but if I catch you breaking into my home where my loved ones are at I WILL let you have one right through the guts.
It is not hard to build a hog or elk or even a bear bow from a straight-grain plank or a piece of automotive spring steel. Anyone can get into bowcraft if they are willing to devote to the art of the hunter and the old time woodsman. One is talkin' to y'all right now. You don't really need an AR to defend your house if you ain't got one. And if you are on top of your game, it won't matter how many friends or guns the scumbag brings with him when he tries to break in. A skilled bowhunter is a silent killer.
Hide behind a piece of furniture or a open closet in total darkness and shoot the motherfuckers, one after another. Repeat if necessary. Let's see how long they can keep the game going. If all you find yourself using is a bow, it would be a good thing to have one of these hog-killing knives as part of your kit too. They will come in really handy.
And by the way they also got really good survival bows out there that can be taken apart and then reassembled and strung within seconds. They also have other ones that fold up and fold back out for use. You can keep those in an emergency kit in your vehicle or toolbox. They are called SAS and PGU. 55lbs draw. Enough to take any species of big game in North America if you are shooting broadheads. Check those out.
