Kids can not plan a day on their own. Just going out of the house finding friends and messing around doesnt happen. If you force it on one kid they get frustrated because the other kids will not or can not join/accept that type of freedom.

Kids are dumbed down. school work these days is heavily video "click" your answer dependant. Any of you have online training for your job? How many coworkers do you see blow through the training in minutes just clicking answers to end the training. If the kids dont hear it from an instructor, hand write it down in notes, reread their notes to study it than it doesnt get imprinted on the brain. Information is learned from the physical aspect of writing it as much as hearing it.

As I was sitting eating breakfast this am one of my kids tests was on the counter. I saw "63%, B+" and got so discouraged I couldnt look further.

Kids think socialization is sitting alone in a room with headphones playing Fortnite. Many parents see no harm in this as its a cheap baby sitter.

The high school had a foyer type area where kids hung out before time to report to homeroom. There would usually be a group of Alphas there who kind of dominated the space. If they liked you, you could hang on the fringes and they didn't mind.

This freak one day decided to challenge the pecking order. He marches straight up to one of the biggest guys in the group. Jack was a mean SOB back then - 6'2 / 200 or so. Not fat. Hell, he was a man at 14. He was a beast at 18.

The memory is one of those that is so vivid that I can still close my eyes and see every detail like it was minutes ago.
Daniel, the asshole, goes flying straight at Jack in a full sprint attack mode. Jack gets up off the bench he's on, stands like he's in the batter's box and squares up his feet for the pitch. When Daniel got about a foot away from Jack he was met with a blow to the face that stopped the forward movement of his head, but everything from the neck down fell immediate victim to his own inertia.
