It's an excellent film: Absolutely nails the mentality/culture in south Lebanon. Absolutely nails the mentality/culture in Canada. Absolutely nails the way the two dovetail in the immigrant experience.
If one is at all prone to flashbacks, this movie could trip them: The sun; the sand; the uncertainty of days spent in the wild-west that is the Middle East....
Ahhhh..... a portrait of the 80's for those who didn't have the time for boy bands and big hair.
