Suppressors Indexing a can

Can anybody explain indexing a can please?

Do you make adjustments to the can or do you adjust the depth of the threads on the machining of the barrel to effect sherry the can aligns at full stop

You can have a smith machine the barrel with your can. They do it by thread depth and cutting back the shoulder to stop the suppressor where you want it.
