I am looking for an inexensive tactical style rifle for a gunshow raffle. Looking at a savage edge (under $600 and it has a scope). What other options are available.? I do not care if it is semi-auto or bolt action.

Really, I just want to offer a reasonably accurate rifle that will not break the clubs bank, but still sell tickets and get a good name for them club.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Inexpensive tactical rifle for gunshow raffle

I thought about that myself, but I got really burnt last time I bought a Remington rifle. Would not shoot, could not get it fixed from Remington, sold it and bought a Savage. But, I would consider it, some people really like Remington rifles. I would buy another one, but I would buy an older one.

Thanks.

Don't have a suggestion for you, just some things to think about.

I'm not sure what kind of shooters you're attempting to attract, but I know I would be conflicted if I won a raffled gun, and then had to spend more of my money to get it ready to shoot. A cheaper ready-to-go package would appeal to people like that.

However, someone who is more fussy about their gear would probably appreciate not having to deal with selling accessories that they wouldn't have picked. A more expensive rifle without accessories would be the ticket to draw in these shooters.
