Hoping you guys can help me out. Wasn’t paying attention when I neck turned my last 50 pieces of adg new brass and something was on the mandrel and kind of galled up the inside of half the cases. Atleast 25 are like this on the inside and it’s screwing up neck tension. Bullet wants to grab on the galled up brass and it’s making neck tension crazy tight. Is there an easy way to fix the inside of the necks or do I just need to load them with odd ball neck tension and shoot them to see if that will clear them up on the inside.

I will try to get some better pics tomorrow. Just worried these are now trash

If the neck wall thickness is still acceptable, you can fix them. Just depends on how much work you want to do.

If you have a ton of brass, faster to trash them. If not, burnish/file the edges down enough it’s not hanging on the bullet.

Might try soaking them in kroil. SOMETIMES it works. Galling is a pain and sometimes just about permanent. I have endmills in my shop that galled up and they will not clean up or will ever perform the same.

Super clean brass doesn’t pay.
Yeah saw a guy post the other day said tumble with polish then anneal then resize then tumble with polish. For one if you polish then anneal it's like working with that chimney clean stuff you toss in the fireplace that looks like the Aurora Borealis and why are people polishing the hell out of their cases.

Necks are like drag strips.
Clean off all the rubber (carbon) and the track goes to shit and your getting cozy with the guard rail and carnage.
Leave a nice manicured layer of rubber (Carbon) on the track and your the hero and all the girls want to play with your junk.

This once happened with me; only had 3 or 4 of my .308 cases galled. I ran them into my Lee collet die and that made the inside to the necks much smoother and then couldn't really tell a difference in seating pressure from the other cases. there were no further issues with case prep or firing results. So, if you happen to have a collet die, you might try that as it tends to squeeze out some imperfections.

I ended up using some 1500 grit paper wrapped around a small drill bit and spun the inside of each case. Took all the burs right off and good to go now. Thanks for the help guys.
