I have a Remington PSS and would like to install flush cups in the side. What is the best material for securing the cups in the stock? Any tips on how to drill properly to avoid damage to stock? All info greatly appreciated!
I used a 15 minute epoxy, Loctite brand I think. And I used a Forster bit for the holes. It makes for a nice square hole and is flat on the bottom for a flush mounted bushing. If the PSS stock is cheap like the other Rem stuff, it may be hollow in the butt making install a big pita. You may want to pull the rubber pad first to investigate.

It's partly hollow. There's a section forming a hollow square tube near the middle, running to aprox. the pistol grip area.
I filled mine with expanding foam years ago when I installed a recoil pad on it. Keep them above or below center and you should be OK.
If you run into a hollow area, just fill it with foam and install.
