i was thinking about ordering the badger bottom metal but my gunsmith said i have to give him a month to install it since he is so backed up. i have a remmy 5r 308 and since the hs precision stock is already bedded. is there any inletting required with the bottom metal?? please help me out. thanks in advance

Re: installing badger bottom metal

yes there is inletting required, but if you had a stock that was already inletted its a straight plug and play. But since you have the HS Precision it will need to be inletted.

you could, to make it look good a drill press or mill. To make it look like shit a dremel and some cutting bits. You may run into problems doing it yourself because it has to be set at a certain depth for it to feed right. Something best left to someone who knows what they are doing

KnapstrupperUSA,

Badgers BM need inletting in a H-S Stock. Can you do it yourself? How handy are you?

If the answer is not very, then have a smith do it. On the other hand, if you want a DBM that goes into an H-S stock easily, then consider buying the H-S Precision DBM.

Mine went in with less than 5 minutes work, with a single round file. I'm not going to tell you it's better than the Badger DBM System for 308's, but mine works well.

YMMV,

Bob
