Hey gang. I have a sort of loaded question, bear with me. I am currently toying with the idea of picking up either an integrally suppressed upper, complete pistol with an integral upper or a .22 can to run on a ruger and wanted some opinions.

I'm looking to run something as quiet as possible, but I also want something that is easily broken down to clean as well. I am sort of leaning towards getting an integral 22/45 because I don't really have another host weapon to run the .22 suppressor on and I think the integral 22/45s look really cool. So I guess my two questions are as follows.

1) For the quietest setup, is it better to go with a can or integral upper?

2) If I chose to go with an integral upper, what is the best setup for my purposes as stated above? The reason why I ask is because there are a ton of manufacturer's out there.

Re: integral ruger 22/45?

integrals are always going to be a bit more cumbersome to break down to clean compared to a regular can to my understanding. However, they are on the whole quieter than a screw on can.

they don't need to....any .22lr that's 1200fps, and lower, won't go supersonic in a 22/45 anyways. I still generally run CCI SV...but the copper washed Federal bulk is just as quiet

oh, and suppressors generally RAISE fps...i've never seen one actually lower it

Re: integral ruger 22/45?

I am thinking I need to do a Form 1 integral with all these 22/45 uppers I have laying around. All my rugers have Pac-Lite uppers on them so I have 4 22/45 uppers just sitting in the safe. A buddy just applied for his SOT and is buying a lathe. I am sure we could figure something out...
