I've never held a CZ, let alone shot one. I see their rimfires have a good reputation around here. I was wanting the new Ruger in 17 hornet but they're so scarce that ass-raping Gunbroker prices are close to a grand. I wasn't sure about aftermarket stocks and such for the CZ. Any info would be appreciated.

Couldn't tell you about aftermarket stocks. I like the factory one so haven't looked around. My 527 is a great little rifle. I've had it a while so don't remember if I did trigger work myself or put in a Rifle Basix/Timney whatever. Accurate and no issues after several thousand rounds.

My CZ 22, 204 and 6.5x55 all shot great and the latter two have excellent triggers.
I don't think the 17 would be a disappointment at all.
The 527 is a very svelte and handy action.
I would go for the standard barrel contour over the varmint in that action/caliber.
Otherwise you lose a lot of the ergonomics.
My only caveat is that the scope has to sit a bit higher on the 527 due to the bolt handle geometry.
As far as the stock, I would have a smith pillar bed it and call it good.
