What? The cartridge? The M200? The company? (psst..the latter two are no more). That's kind of an odd statement.

Re: Interesting video

is the spokesman (ruski) not the very same guy that owns TSAR CANNON Ltd, based in Moscow?

Seems this is just a UAE offspring for the ruski company that claims " most accurate rifles in whole of EU".

TSAR CANNON, use imported US made CNC kit and the rifles are all conventional builds.

Marketing hype???

Probably.

Re: Interesting video

Makes sense. The UAE is looking to grow a sustainable economic infrastructure for when the oil runs out. They've already got Erik Prince building a private army for them. Maybe they're looking to the military-industrial complex of the post-WWII US as a role model.

The registration for their web site is from the UAE but the web server is in Russia, probably Moscow.

Dunno if they build a proprietary caliber or use the old Soviet crap but they advertise rifles "in 3 main calibers - 300WM, 338LM, 408CT (other calibers are optional)."

If their scopes focus as poorly as their photographer, their shit sucks.

Looks like it. His name is Vladislav Lobaev. Here's a pic of him from a Russian Popular Mechanics online article:

The rifle at the Tawazun web site looks very suspiciously like the Lobaev SVL shown at world.guns.ru, which it says is made by "Tsar-Cannon Ltd":

There's also an interview with him at Forbes Russia online from about a year ago. He talks about the investment required to break into the American market but he omits any mention of a UAE partnership.

EDIT:
And there's a (Russian-only) rah-rah video featuring the same guy mixed in with the rifle and some news clips available at the Tsar-Cannon website. I don't think it'll play online, you'll have to download it (86 mb) to watch it.

Not even if he lobbed it. No way.

Yeah I was wondering if I could use it to jack up a car and change a tire if the situation called for it.
