Suppressors Introducing: Energetic Armament Vox-S

OSHA says, "Exposure to impulsive or impact noise should not exceed 140 dB peak sound pressure level." That's where the 140 dB comes from. In my experience 140 dB sounds pretty loud and is in the range that temporary ringing may occur (it does for me). For comparison an unsuppressed non-braked .308 is usually about 168 dB. Every +10 dB is a 10x increase in the sound pressure level.

Thx for the info. According to Rays vids on YouTube, my takedown should be around 116-119 db. Can't wait to see what that's like.

For extended range sessions you'll want to use a form of hearing protection anyway, because extended exposure is not safe. But for one or two shots, maybe hunting, around 130db would probably be fine.
As others stated, hearing safe includes two factors. One is decibel level and the other is exposure. Both need to be considered unless you are under ~85db
