Is a Burris 536 good for ad?

Hey guys I am new to the ar platform. I just bought an AR-15 S&W M&P 15t and I was wondering if getting a Burris scope is a great scope for shooting paper/ tactical? Because I have a nice Nicon scope on it so am you guys think I'll be able to shoot out to 500 yds

I would recommend you take a couple hours and spend it reading the optics forum. Everything you need to know is there.

no trying to shoot 500 yds with the reticle will be frustrating at a minimum.
how do I know? because I own the 3 x version and while it is a good scope much past 150-200 yds becomes a bit of a pain .
