Rifle Scopes Is a fixed 6x scope too much for a front loader?

Have the opportunity to purchase a fine used Sako rifle with a S&B Classic 6X42 scope. Already have someone interested in the rifle, but he definitely does not want the scope. I have a T/C encore .50cal muzzleloader w/ an Aimpoint T1 that needs bigger glass. Zero is at 100 but would like to go 150 and the red dot ain't getting me there with my eyes. Was thinking something like a NF 1-4x NSX but now this S&B could fall into my lap.

Thoughts on the 6x for my application?

Depends on how close you might need to take a shot. In my experience 6x is right on the edge of what works for up close while it is really good for longer ranges.

Same view as OFG. If your hunting is mostly overlooking an empty farm field, I see no reason it wouldn't work. If you're sitting in deep woods and deer snuck up on you at 20 feet, not so much.

what about just adding a magnifier to your t1?
