I use Lapua brass in my .308 bolt gun and love it! But, is lapua brass to expensive for an AR-15. I catch my brass and seldom lose any so that is not a concern.

The AR platforms are capable of excellent accuracy when properly built and configured. If you are looking for match grade ammunition then there is no reason not to get Lapua brass. But for the price I'd rather just pick-up lake city.

Surely would be for me, but I shoot 4 to 5 thousand a year.
Lapua stuff is good, but expensive. Their last price hike has really turned me off on their products.
I guess if you have the coin, and are getting 98% brass retention, it might last a long time????

Do you resize the body each time and full neck size? If so, don't you lose some of the advantages of good brass?

You might consider buying Lapua brass for an AR a little excessive if your intention is plinking ammo and shooting thousands of rounds. That being said, buying Lapua brass is never a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

Lapua brass would be worthwhile in a bolt gun, but not in an AR15, unless you were attending something like a national match, or another really important match.
At a match where you can't retrieve your brass, loosing 80-100 cases of Lapua brass would really hurt unless you were rich.

Brownell's/Sinclair does have Lapua "on sale" right now, but for an AR that Lake City is where it's at.

Many service rifle shooters use it at 600 and farther. I just use Winchester or LC brass.
