Is Russia done pretending?

it wouldn't be shocking.
i'm pretty certain that a significant number of russians suffered under the bolsheviks like the ukrainians did.
it is hard to blame anyone with family that were brutalized or murdered by the communists for embracing the "other side".
somewhat frustrating that many people only identify nazis with killing jewish people. jews were being slaughtered decades before hitler rose to power.
many people claim the west bankrolled the rise of the nazi party as a barrier to bolshevik expansion.

The "We're Fighting Nazis!" stuff is hilarious.

it might seem funny, but that is how they give themselves the moral license to hurt people that don't agree with them.
it can't be wrong to hurt a nazi, can it?

Yeah there's a reason Democrats call everyone who disagrees a "Nazi" (or Fascist which is just yelling Nazi without yelling it).

Russia was indeed a friend to the colonists during the American Revolution. And right up to the 1910s decade. The bolshevik forces that killed Tsar Alexander & family basically ruined the friendship and look at where it is today.

I would put good money on the idea that RUS would entertain friendship again if only our govt would present itself globally with more self-respect, more decorum and more understanding of its role as compared to the rest of the planet. But that would take an administration unlike any we've seen for the past 75 years or so.
100% agree.
We’ve broken our word and our deals with them at almost every single opportunity. If we treated them with some honesty and respect I think people would be surprised at how well we’d get along with Russia. They wanted to join NATO in the early 2000’s so clearly they’re absolutely open to the idea of partnering with us. But nope, we had to shut em down and keep them as an enemy, while pushing NATO closer and closer to their border.

I swear, over the past 5 yrs or so, I have seen more generic put-downs via "nazi" or "fascist" than any other period of my life. Last time I heard "nazi" this often was when Seinfeld was on and he had the "soup nazi" character. And people used "soup nazi" as a slang for a period back then.
“Nazi” has literally lost all meaning and impact due to liberal extremists calling everyone right of Lavrenty Beria a nazi.

Fckn love that movie.

No official source, but that type thing would never be allowed online or admitted to.
But I’ve heard it from multiple unofficial sources. This was like 2+ years ago, let me see what I can dig up.. it was when basically the entirety of Azov batt. got surrounded and destroyed in Mariupol.
I can believe a lot of things, but this just isn’t one of them. There’s no way a general would authorize Green Berets to operate alongside a forward element in Ukraine. It sounds like a rumor to me — I haven’t seen anything credible to support it. Maybe you’ve got friends claiming some kind of insider information, but people with access to that level of intel don’t usually share it so freely.

Funny how the media will on one hand write an entire article on a "pro-Russian" fighter wearing Nazi symbols to create a narrative, but on the other hand completely whitewash the world's largest neo-Nazi organization (Azov) to ignore another.

Russia had cartographers then too. Why do you choose French depictions of Russian territory? Who is France relative to Russia?
In that case, we have our own cartographers too.
But to demonstrate impartiality, an independent source is provided.
This is the norm of a healthy discussion, often inaccessible to understanding by those who grew up in conditions of despotism, such as Muscovites.
Do you have any suspicions about the veracity of what he compiled?

The bolshevik forces that killed Tsar Alexander & family basically ruined the friendship and look at where it is today.
And this one who killed the tsar, banned the church, has been lying on Red Square for 100 years.
And not just lying, but lying like a saint (almost) who is worshiped by modern generations.
The mysterious Russian mentality as it is.

Умом Россию не понять, Аршином общим не измерить: У ней особенная стать - В Россию можно только верить. Тютчев Ф.

Russia cannot be understood with the mind, it cannot be measured with a common yardstick: It has a special status - One can only believe in Russia.
Tyutchev F.

In their genetic code there is a permanent claim to the "third Rome". And they are fed this shit from the very preschool educational institution and until the grave.
They have a sacred mission - to catch up and surpass the "West" and in their mind to surpass it is not to be better but to be those whom everyone fears. If they are afraid, it means they respect, as they themselves say.
In this veiled need for "respect" lies the entire Russian behavioral model. The government robs them and in return asks them to unite against an external enemy. That's all of Russia.
