Well I'm grabbing a V22 and it's been designed to shoot lapula ammo so I know lap and s&k ammo fires/extracts well but is there any others.

I know Cci sv has issues.

My local gunshop only stocks lapula center x at $23au ($14+us) a box. I'm more than willing to spend that for a comp if it's what my gun likes but want a cheaper plinking ammo.

IIRC without measuring any dimensions all these come off the same assembly lines and use the same components down to the wax recipe:
Lapua center x
SK Rifle Match
SK Standard Plus
SK Magazine

Possibly the long range match and match pistol too from SK, but I cant speak to those with confidence. Hope that helps

Think I can get the bulk 500 tins of sk magazine locally.

Any other brands? Presume most of Cci is out.

Eley or federal target bulk?

Even though I'm happy to use bulk s&k wouldn't mind try as much as possible.

You're just going to have to wait until yours arrives and try different ammo. Mine feeds and extracts Center-X without issue. SK LR Rifle and Standard Plus gave me issues with heavy bolt close. Others have zero issues with those and many others.

Do you have Geco brand ammo there? It is relatively cheap and shoots pretty well. It shoots good enough for practice anyway. It feeds great as well. I was able to get it for $25-30 USD here.

How are your geco results at distance? I had one rifle shoot it amazingly tight at 50, but it feel apart by 100.

Geco shoots decent to 100. I can’t say beyond that however. If I’m practicing anything beyond that I use whatever I use in competition. Past 100 is where 22 ammo‘s really starts to perform differently. I don’t want to get used to the way one ammo shoots in various conditions only to shoot with a different ammo in a match and botch the wind call because I’m not familiar with it.

Geco in at least 9mm is common

So I spode I should be able to find it in 22lr.
Are you referring to there match ammo, standard or semi?

Just gotta go check if my local gun shop has it.

How issue its not carried by any chain/big box store its only available at a gun shop, there are no chain gun shops. Biggest I know of is 2 or 3 stores.

Only 1 store in Australia is what I'd call a decent online store (cleaver Firearms) rest offer there specials and not much else.

Ammo/powder/primers are classed as explosive and means to ship a box of ammo it starts at $300 (yes I'm serious)

We only have 2 major importers of guns/ammo so there isn't much choice.

Your rules may not be perfect but there 1000 times better than ours.

I need a $40 permessuon to aquire (PTA) that takes 7-60days to get approved and sent to gunshop for ANY firearm paintball/air rifles included even though I have 308's and 12gauges let me hold up while the govt checks and gives me permession to purchase a little gamo air rifle.

Also I'm more than happy with a cheap plinking ammo that will shoot to 50-100m id much rather get 250 rounds down range practicing than 50 center x.

I will then use some match ammo to go further ect ect. Just want as much trigger time as I can.

Gros21, Interested to know how, or thru who you are getting a V22 into Australia. Do we have an importer here? Cheers Rob, Goulburn, NSW

Rhinosports is the Offical importer.
I'm going through someone that's importing a batch will take ages but there in qld and I'm in no rush.

Ozgunsales search "vudoo" rhino sports has a few options listed there.

3.5k for a barreled action
Then add it to a acc mdt chassis (will need 20") $1000
3 extra mags $200
Trigger tech diamond $500
Scope and rings 2.5k
Supercheap auto hard case (when on sale)
Bipod (atlas clone)

It's $8000au for a set up
